Polar Field Services, Inc. of Littleton, CO is searching for an adventurous individual to join our team as a seasonal Chef in Summit Station, Greenland. ABOUT POLAR FIELD SERVICES, INC.:

We are a rare company. Since 1999, we’ve been taking our clients wherever they need to go, no matter how remote the location or challenging the conditions may be. We plan their expeditions, keep them safe in places that are anything but, and supply food, shelter, power, water, and waste removal. We then return the site to such a pristine condition no one would ever know we were there. We haven’t been everywhere. Just a lot of places most people haven’t.

YOUR ROLE AS A CHEF:

As the Chef for our field operations at Summit Station, you are a literal lifesaver for our team. Each day of your workweek, you arise bright and early and prepare to deliver well-balanced meals to the station’s complement. As you work, you uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, and you keep your kitchen spotlessly clean.

During your deployment, you carefully monitor the food inventory as well, adjusting the menu at times to account for limitations or shortages. Sometimes, your inventiveness is put to the test, but that’s just one of the reasons you love what you do.

Cooking in our kitchen is a pleasure for you because you know how much your meals are appreciated. Unlocking the mysteries of the Arctic is hard work, and you take pride in doing your part by delivering delicious and varied meals to our staff and the scientists. You love being such an important member of our crew!

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A CHEF:
  • 3+ years of experience cooking in a commercial kitchen

Are you organized and efficient? Do you pride yourself on your inventiveness in your cooking? Are you a stickler for cleanliness? Can you get along well with people of all types? If so, you might just be perfect for this seasonal culinary job!

WORK SCHEDULE:

While deployed to Summit Station, Greenland, this culinary position works 54 hours over a 6-day workweek, Monday – Saturday. Our seasonal deployments generally run from April to June and from June to September.
