The Finance Manager supports the Director of Governance and Finance and the Executive Director in promoting and facilitating the financial health of the association. This position plays a key role in developing and implementing plans which support the association’s growth and long-term financial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Perform financial management duties including generating financial data, compiling, reviewing and submitting reports.

· Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations.

· Preparation of yearly reports to members of the association’s financial status and forecasts for presentation to members at annual meeting.

· Monitor and enforce compliance with tax and financial reporting standards and assist with cash flow forecasting.

· Manage association’s 401K program including annual review and reporting.

· Oversee operations of the finance department by setting goals, objectives and designing a framework for these to be met. Including strengthening and development of internal controls for proper authorization and approvals process and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for overall finance procedures.

· Create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the association’s financial status and forecasts.

Other Duties:

· Conduct regular assessments of financial policies and procedures.

· Advise senior management on new or improved financial management tools/processes, including technology, which may make the processes more efficient and effective and take the lead on set up and implementation of such.

Managerial Responsibilities:

· Oversee and manage Bookkeeper

Skills and Experience:

· A minimum of 5 years of previous work experience in a related financial role

· Proven knowledge of financial analysis and accounting principles

· In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations and industry legislation

· Proficient in online General Ledger systems, QuickBooks Online a plus.

· Analytical skills

· Attention to detail

· Strong interpersonal, communications and presentation skills

Education/Certifications/Licensure:

· Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field

· CPA, desirable

Language Skills:

· Excellent English verbal and written communication.
