Head Chef

Fosshótel Glacier Lagoon is seeking to hire an enthusiastic head chef. The head chef leads a team of employees, is responsible for delivering operational profits while keeping the wellbeing of both guests and employees as the foundation.

Tasks:

• Professional management, organization and implementation in the kitchen
• Cooking, baking, and presentation
• Creating menus for the restaurant and groups in consultation with the Food and Beverage Director
• Ensures that food and beverages are up to standard
• Responsible for observing hygiene, HAACP
• Supervises cost control and price and variable costing of the production

Skills and qualification:

• An education related to the job is necessary
• Considerable experience of similar jobs is essential
• Considerable communication skills, a positive outlook, and a great service attitude
• Great requirements for initiative, accuracy, and independent working methods
• An awareness of health and safety, and knowledge of HACCP is beneficial

Housing is included. The location of the hotel is between Höfn in Hornafjörður and Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

The hotel is a first-class, 4-star establishment that opened in Hnappavellir, at the foot of the Öræfajökull glacier, in June 2016.
