As a Communications Officer at POLAR, you will play a vital role in advancing knowledge of the Canadian Arctic and promoting our mission to improve economic opportunities, environmental stewardship, and the quality of life for residents. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accessibility for web publications, conducting quality assurance for stakeholders, providing communications consultation for products, liaising with our web team for the publication of legislative reports, managing internal newsletters, and creating branded products. The position will report to the Manager of Communications, Brodie Larocque, and will work closely with facets of POLAR.

The job requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree.
  • Experience in a Communications role. Experience in communications in the Canadian Government is an asset.
  • Attention to detail
  • A critical eye
  • Experienced stakeholder engagement
  • Creative, hardworking, and passionate about northern mandates
  • Proficiency in Adobe Experience Manager, graphic design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Suite
