Our Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge is looking for a Human Resources Manager to join their Administration team. This position is responsible for providing human resources support, administration and guidance to all employees at the hotel location enabling all employees to be productive, motivated and to bring the most value to the organization. This person will provide support through employee relations, recruiting, payroll, employee training and recognition. The HR Manager carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, objectives and applicable government laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Guides and Council management and employee relations with disciplinary issues, will conduct investigations as needed. Is also a support of employee recognitions and relations.
Conducts thorough orientation for all team members
Participates in recruiting event(s) and develops/participates in strategies for successful recruiting
Oversees payroll system; will successfully submit timesheets for pay out and monitors daily processes.
Ensures all team injuries, illnesses and accidents are reported as required while ensuring compliance training is up-to-date for all teams.
Manages annual Benefits open enrollment and the compensation review process; manages ESA Requests.
Oversees all onboarding, departmental hiring, processes background checks. Supports and abides by the Work and Travel regulations.
Preforms “Manager on Duty” Shifts and supports all departments.
Oversees employee housing assignments, offers support to the housing team, ensures proper check in and check out processes.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; develops, implements, and monitors policies, procedures, practices, and Employee Handbook to maintain compliance.
Responsible for processing confidential employee documents/data and verifying information. Responsible for accurate recording and maintenance of employee personnel files and records according to federal and local laws and company requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in human resources or payroll administration equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of an Associate’s degree. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
This job normally requires a minimum of two year’s experience working in a Human Resources department.
This job normally requires a minimum of 1 year of employee relations experience including conducting confidential investigations.
Clerical, administrative, record keeping experience.
The ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds; may be performed with another team member at times. Bending, squatting, kneeling and cross-body lifting may be required.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time, but able to move throughout company facilities on a regular basis. May need to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including working beyond normal business hours and/or on weekends occasionally to support business needs, projects or operations.
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proficiency in the use of computer business application, with working knowledge of computerized accounting and payroll systems. Experience with remote payroll reporting is an advantage.
Current, valid Alaska driver’s license is required. A Motor Vehicle Report will be required.
Ability to resolve complex customer service issues and respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints
Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, management, and customers.
Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff.
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
