Senior Manager, Logistics

As Senior Manager, Logistics, you lead and develop the logistics operations in Finland and Sweden to reach the highest standards. With customers in focus and motivated team at a core, you develop and execute our logistics strategies to meet requirements of all key stakeholders in the most efficient way.

Your role entails formulating and executing strategies as well as defining directions for logistics to maximize efficiency and minimize expenses, which includes the successful organization and management of local and global shipments. You’ll develop, apply, and evaluate policies to form strategic alliances both within the company and with external partners to support the organization’s national and international operations (involving air/ocean carriers and freight forwarders/brokers). As part of your duties, you will lead our logistics team in Lahti, and in Sweden; your tasks encompass supervising transportation, B2B client support, fulfilling sales orders, and monitoring the distribution of products.

In this role, you work cross-functionally and cross-border with other functions such as Production, Sales, S&OP, Procurement, Legal etc., to unlock the efficient flow of goods between Cereals units and our customers. You are a member of Operations Management Team where you add value with your high subject-matter expertise, broad experience and leadership. You also work as part of Lahti site management team and contribute to development initiatives and efficiency growth.

You report to Director, Operations and will be located in Lahti, Finland, at our Fazer Mills (or at Fazer headquarters in Vaarala, Helsinki) while at the same time being responsible for our logistics operations in Sweden (Fazer Mills in Lidköping).

What you’ll bring to the team:

To succeed in this role, you have gained broad experience and deep knowledge in freight and logistics, preferably with proven track record of working with international companies in developing export operations. Experience in other areas of Supply Chain and Operations is seen as an asset. Your proficiency is based on a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in logistics, supply chain, operations area or similar.

We are looking for a hands-on leader with strong strategic acumen, leadership and analytical skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, changing environment. You manage well complex information and meet customer expectations. You have eagerness to learn, bring up your own ideas and you dare to challenge the existing practices. You are proficient with modern technology tools like SAP, Cognos, and Excel, fluent in English and Finnish, with Swedish as an asset.
