Working under broad direction from the Clothing & Field Systems Coordinator.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee procurement activities within the Field Operations environment.
Prepare plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
Observe and monitor compliance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013 and Commonwealth Procurement Rules
Review, compare, analyse, and approve products and services to be purchased.
Maintain accurate procurement records including supplier information such as relevant qualifications, accounts terms and available products.
Negotiate contract terms and maintain good supplier relations.
Research and evaluate prospective suppliers.
As required, support personnel and activities that contribute to budget forecasting/monitoring, inventory procurement/stocktaking, cost analyses and relevant reports.
Provide strategic advice, practical guidance, and solutions on procurement matters, including probity and procurement compliance reviews of approaches to market.
Negotiate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, to resolve conflicts or difficult issues.
Keep up to date with procurement policy, processes and legislation and building knowledge of the business and supplier markets.
Explain procurement processes and requirements to those responsible for business unit spending and ensuring application of best practices
